No, it doesn't. Not the core Rivet machinery at least -- it only
expected reference data if the book* methods are called in the
"autobooking" form, rather than giving explicit bin edges. (Equally, an
MC_* analysis could have ref data, if it wanted to use autobooking for
some reason.)
