[Rivet] problems running rivet

My magic crystal ball is at the manufacturer's for repair, so you'd have
to create an old-fashioned back trace in order to find the reason. It
ain't that complicated, though. Run in gdb and type "bt" followed by
"enter" after the seg fault occurred.
