[Evtgen] FW: HepForge transition (resend)Latham, Thomas T.Latham at warwick.ac.ukTue Aug 29 15:15:16 BST 2017
Dear all, Apologies if you've already received the following email about the transition of the HepForge service but apparently the HepForge admins did not manage to reach all users and so they've asked me to forward this to all EvtGen developers. Cheers, Tom On 29/08/2017 14:23, "admin at hepforge.org" <admin at hepforge.org> wrote: Dear project mailing list owner, the following mail was sent two weeks ago to all hepforge users but apparently did not reach all users due to outdated email adresses. Please inform your colaborators. Thanks, Holger Dear HepForge Users, We are currently in the process of upgrading HepForge to a newer system (phabricator) as the current technology is approaching the end of its life. In the near future, users will have a lot more freedom organising their projects. This includes signing up and adding new users without having to go through hepforge admins. Further, svn, git and mercurial will all be available natively and you have full control over your repositories. The project URLs and download locations will remain the same as will the mailing lists. We will discontinue trac as there are much more powerful bugtrackers available in phabricator. The old trac tickets will be archived and set to readonly. What will disappear are the home directories and personal webpages of individual hepforge users, that includes the ability to login to hepforge via ssh. We would therefore kindly ask to move personal files from your hepforge home directory within the next weeks. There will be a few more messages before the new system goes live. The timescale to implement the new system is about 4 weeks away. Cheers, Holger
