Its purpose is twofold: * it publishes some changes user asked for (and used already by private communication) * some bugs were fixed, especially in the residue calculation. This may affect users, which are looking for (energy) conservation in the event. Due to the technical limitations of the hepforge site, the best solution is to do a full new download and installation of the code. Its major modification is a new electron-nucleon and neutrino-nucleon machinery. The new prescription is based on Christy-Bosted fits (https://inspirehep.net/literature/771332) and described in detail in http://arxiv.org/abs/2308.16161. For other modifications please refer to our release notes. Therefore also the GiBUU homepage is not accessible. We are sorry, but we do not have any information about this outage. It is outside of our competence. Some small, minor bug fixes have been made. The main change is an adjustment of the electron-/neutrino-nucleon machinery to get a better description of pion production events; inclusive cross sections are hardly affected. Please note: All your old jobcards will not run anymore! This is on purpose with this patch! In the 2023 release, some parameters have to be adjusted compared to the former versions of GiBUU. This lead to a lot of confusion and false results by the users. In order to ensure that your jobcard is really meant to be run with the 2023 version, you have to give explicitly the line "version = 2023" in the namelist '&input'.
