What is required of you to take part in the programmes - developing your leadership capability? Becoming a more effective leader involves delegates in a complex process of changing behaviours, based on an understanding of leadership and on the development of a range of personal and interpersonal skills. Simply understanding what leadership involves, or developing insight into the effect of one’s own emotional state or values on decision-making, or being good at communicating with others is not sufficient, although each is a necessary component of any leadership role. It is the synthesis of this that enables effective leaders to recognise the effect of their own behaviours on other people and on the organisation, and to manage those behaviours to achieve the goals that they have agreed. Our ILM Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Leadership development programme places great emphasis on developing this ability, if you are to continue to improve your performance beyond the programme itself – hence the results driven focus. This is an important characteristic of all successful leaders that they can reflect on their experiences and learn from them – effective leaders are not afraid of making mistakes, only of repeating mistakes. Accreditation This programme is accredited to the ILM Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Leadership. Programme content Day 1 - Leadership in Practice Appreciate the nature of the strategic leadership role and the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to perform effectively in the role. Day 2 - Developing the Reflective Leader Understand how the role and nature of the organisation affects the leadership knowledge, skills and behaviour needed by senior managers as well as aiding reflective learning. Day 3 - The Leadership Journey Formulate personal development objectives based on the outcomes of assessment and diagnostic tools. Develop autonomy and self-direction in learning and develop skills in reflecting holistically on a continuing basis and demonstrate a critical understanding of personal development needs. Day 4 - Leading Change in Organisations Review the causes of change, strategies for change and the effects of change on organisations. Justify an appropriate leadership strategy to enable and identify change. Day 5 -Developing Excellence in Operations Determine the organisation’s capability to meet the current and future needs of customers, service users or sponsors. Develop and recommend plans to improve operations to meet the needs of customers, users or other relevant sponsors. Programme dates The ILM Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Leadership is delivered as a 5-day open programme in London at one day per month on the following dates: 04 December 2013; 16 January 2014; 11 February 2014; 12 March 2014 and 12 May 2014. Each day will run from 09:30 to 16:30. Programme Cost The total cost for the programme is £2,250 plus VAT per person. This includes all relevant materials, refreshments, registration and certification with the Institute of Leadership and Management, along with 6 months full membership allowing access to a wide range of support and development materials. <a href="http://www.resultsdrivengroup.co.uk/course.aspx?CourseID=57"> ILM Level 7 Award in Strategic Leadership</a> is delivered offsite as a 4-day residential experiential learning programme in Keswick<o:p>.</o:p> The Level 7 Award in Strategic Leadership consists of two Modules - Leadership in Practice and Developing the Reflective Leader - the first of which involves delegates in using critical incidents to gain insight into the qualities needed for effective leadership and the second in developing the abilities needed to identify how well their own performance matches up to the standards they aspire to.
